Hi! with this site, you can either check out the chat room or check out all the new installments to the "Legend of Zelda the Dark Crystal" series! The Legend of Zelda the Dark Crystal Chapter 1 "I stand here today on the bones of my elders only to die above them. But I will make certain that I will also be standing on the bones of goblin scum before I go down!” The war would end there, a thousand to ten thousand, Ganon leading the greater of the two. Link was unafraid, the master sword in his hand. To his right,he saw a puny collection of farmers and blacksmiths. To his left, the same. In front of him, he admired princess Zelda’s profile one last time, before the battle for not only Hyrule, but the world. Ganon would spread his reign to the far corners of the world, for Hyrule was the only military trained Kingdom in the rest of the land. All of the others had been either demolished or corrupted by Ganon. A horn sounded, not the start of the battle but a warning. It was customary of Ganon to give a choice to the enemy. Obviously this wasn’t an exception. A short, plump goblin strode towards the king and asked in a small, hoarse voice,”Surrender, or die.” the grinding of the kings teeth and a soft swoosh was enough to tell link what had happened. Another horn. The battle had begun. Link rode upon his stead towards the massive wave of Ganon’s minions swooping down. Link only took a second to look down on the beheaded warning goblin. Before he even knew what he was doing, his sword was stained red with the blood of his enemy. Link skillfully swooped down and took its’ shield to cover the back of his horse and strapped it on to his stead where he could not block with his own shield. The battle raged on, swords bled and shields splintered and yet, there was Ganon who was refraining from the battle as if he was waiting for something. Link worked his waytowards him, anger by his side, pushing him on when all of the sudden, a riderin the distance. It was hard tosee amidst a battle but he was guessing it was goblin. “Aim for that rider!” the yell came professionally from Link as if he had rehearsed it. His archers were no good, he was too far off. The army is only to keep usout of range of that goblin to deliver that package to Ganon. We have to get to him first. “Fire again!” Link’s horse could sense that things were urgent and sped up, knocking Link off balance and after a short period of confusion, found a small dirk sticking out of his left arm, and almost dropping the master sword he let out a cry of pain. The dirk was nothing, the rider had almost reached Ganon and urging his stead faster every second. “FIRE!” this was the last wave of arrows before the rider reached his goal. If they missed… Link could only slightly make out the sight of the rider falling to the ground and Ganon walking in an almost gliding fashion over to the dead body of the goblin and pulling a piece of folded cloth out of it’s cold, dead hands. And then, a burst of golden light out of the parcel made Link realize what he was up against, there was no turning back from this point on, it was too late. Ganon had strength on his side now,Only great courage and great wisdom could help them now. He had to find Zelda for alone, he stood no chance against Ganon. After searching the battle, he found Zelda, injured and leaning against a tree. At that point, Link remembered the dirk in his arm and pulled it out as if it was nothing as well as his last health potion, “Keep it for yourself, I am of no use in battle.”Zelda’s calm voice rang softer than normal. “But my injury is only minor, I am giving it to you and the only way that you can get me to drink it is if you pour it down my throat.” Link retorted. Zelda reluctantly downed the potion and Link helped her up. “The battle is not lost, not with you at my side.” Zelda blushed at this comment but managed to cover it so that Link could not see. And then, together they rode off towards Ganon, With Zelda’s wisdom and Link’s courage. Chapter 2 The
battle raged on, whilst Link and Zelda made their way towards Ganondorf and
saving some hylians on the way.
Zelda’s long sword was knocked out of her hand in the midst of battle so
she was forced to use a crude, misshapen goblin cleaver, as she did not wish to
go back and retrieve her own weapon.
And then, to Links eye, everything went in slow motion. There it was, a spear, headed directly
for the princess. Link ignored the
voice in the back of his head, which was screaming loud enough to not be
considered in the back of his head, and as if by pure instinct, he leaped off
of his stead and with a pronounced howl of disgust reached out. There was wood on the end of his
fingertips. Goblin wood. He could feel the world becoming
slower. Then Link could smell
blood. He could smell Zelda. He could smell Ganon. Link easily snapped the spear in half
with his jaws. This wolf Link
seamed to have a heightened sense of the world around him. He jumped from goblin to goblin and
only caught Zelda following through the corner of his eye. She was fine, so
Link kept moving forward. Link
charged through a goblin general and found Ganon, sitting on a throne of
gold. “I will give you choice,
young hero of time, as I gave to Hyrule, Bow before me and become one of the
royal knights of Ganondorf, or allow me to slay you in front of your precious
princess! Hopefully, you not be as
foolish as that petty king of yours.” a cackle ensued from Ganon and Link resisted
the urge to lunge at him right then and there, he new that the rules for the
match must be set down first and Link could feel himself turning back into a
human. “Now that wouldn’t have
been very fair now would it?” Ganon said in his mock “cares about rules”
voice. When Link was ready Ganon
said, “I will not summon any of my Goblins to aid me in battle, and you, none
of your humans. Understood?” Link
nodded his head in agreement and Ganon said, “Draw your weapon, boy.” Link unsheathed the master sword from
behind his back and with a look of determination, got into his fencing stance,
and Ganon into his. “Let us battle.” Ganon easily sidestepped a thrust from
Link and delivered a blow to the back of Links head with the flat side of his
sword, knocking Link to the ground.
Link got up as if it were nothing with little more than a bloody
lip. “So this is the legendary
‘Hero of Time’.” Snarled Ganon, ”I expected something a little more, how should
I say it, ‘Epic’?” Link snarled back, “So this is the legendary Ganondorf,
leader of darkness, enemy of Hyrule, giving the legendary ‘Hero of Time’ a
chance to get up in the middle of a battle, and talking peacefully with him as
though we were friends.” This provoked a cry of hatred from Ganon, whose
ruthless strikes were easily parried by Link. Soon, the hate-driven Ganon grew tired and returned to his
more tactical fighting style.
Ganon stabbed at Link so Link rolled around him to dodge it, then, as if
from nowhere, Ganon pulled out his second sword stealthily and pinned Link to
the ground. “Nothing can stop me
now! I have defeated the hero of
Hyrule!” Cackled Ganon “Wait,” cried Link, his mind whizzing for something of
use, ”you forgot to hold up your end of the bargain!” “What?” “Remember, you said that I would either bow to you or you
would kill me in front of princess Zelda.” Ganon looked around only to see the princess, ten
yards away, and before he could see what she had in her hand, she released the
arrow. She was only slightly off
target but that was enough to make a difference, the arrow hit him square in
the right shoulder and turned it to stone that crumbled into a pile next to
Link’s foot. Ganon turned to Link
and whispered in his ear, “This is but the calm before the storm.” and turned
into a raven with red eyes and only one wing. And flew off. Chapter three coming soon!
